A challenge... to the challenge..

Our days start early and wind on until it's time to rest. Some of us have to work outside the home and it's can be quite stressful.. Some of us work inside the home with our families and that too can be quite time consuming. Crafting sometimes is the farthest thing from our minds. We try to get involved with good intentions and something stops us from completing our assigned task. I can fall within all three categories on any given day. I enjoy crafting. I love creating something with my hands and giving a hand made item to someone warms my heart. Challenges are a great favorite, especially sketches. Sketches give me the opportunity to stretch my imagination. It stokes the fire of creativity when I can't find any. Go over to your photos where every you have them and pull out a couple. Head over to your craft cabinet and pull out the colors that compliment each other with the photo and give it a 10 minute go. I would love it if you would take a quick moment between your everyday life and create with the sketch I have posted. If you would like to see a specific challenge .. please let me know... I will be happy to post it and create along with you.

Thursday Blog Sketch Challenge - Thursday, October 17th

Sketch Challenge WYSIWYG and Manipulated!! Challenge 10/14 & 10/15

sketch51

Welcome to the sketch challenge for Tuesday & Wednesday, October 15 &16, 2013.  Please create one page with the sketch as WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) and then "manipulate" the sketch but keep the main theme... you can use the same pictures, elements and journaling in both.

Artist's .. how do you handle...

Ladies, today is all about how you handle the stresses and how crafting either adds too or detracts from it.

As artists, we challenge ourselves to do more.  As women, we are inherently feel we are obligated to do more and as significant women in the lives of men and mothers to the children, our proverbial plate is always full.

How do you handle it?

Are you supported in your daily tasks ?

Does crafting help to lower your stress or does it add to it on some level?

Let's talk about it..  What you do may help others... so let's share!

Winter Blog Challenge - Steampunk Christmas - Nov 1 thru Dec 15th... Join now!!

Open Challenge to all "kraftiekre8ators & Friends!!!"...

Theme: Steam-punk Winter/Christmas
Colors:  White, light Gray, Grey & Sparkle

What is Steam-punk?

Caitlin Kittredge says " It's sort of Victorian-industrial, but withn more whimsy and fewer orphans".

Steampunk has always been first and foremost a literary genre, or least a subgenre of science fiction and fantasy that includes social or technological aspects of the 19th century (the steam) usually with some deconstruction of, reimagining of, or rebellion against parts of it (the punk)

With all that being said.. this challenge is steam-punk with a twist.

2014 Bucket List

Last year I created a 2013 Bucket list and for the most part, I have been ticking off the things that I completed. It's that time again for a new bucket list. My new one will have a couple of things on it from the old list so it's still evolving. Challenge: Create a page on your blog entitled "2014 Bucket List" List all the things you would like to accomplish on it Beginning January 1, 2014, begin to tick off the things that you do accomplish from the list. Share the list with the group by posting a link to the initial bucket list and to each post that describes a completed item. Let's have some fun..

Did you craft today? Mail Art & a Challenge

Crafting has become a part of my daily life.   I find time to sketch out things at work in my spare time.  Last week I started working on "mail art" with the old envelopes that were found in my desk.  Mail art is like artist trading cards.  These are one of a kind envelopes that brighten up the mailbox of the recipient.

Have you ever tried "mail art"?  Believe me you don't have to buy any. Just take the "return" envelopes you receive in the mail and use them.  Window envelopes are especially great to use...

Be sure if you want to use them that you create a readable space for the address and the return address.

So .. try your hand at created a piece of mail art.  You can stamp, sketch, paint, color, collage.. the sky is the limit.

This is a sample of a great piece of mail art... ...

CHALLENGE:  Try your hand at mail art... create a piece and post your one of a kind art piece here on my blog.   Show off your creativity!!

Happy creating!!
